Photo Walk in San-Francisco

Photo Walking Tour of San Francisco with Ralph Velasco

“PROPOSED ITINERARY

We’ll start by walking over the bridge to the Marin side, taking our time to shoot along the way.  We’ll then double back, allowing us to shoot from a different perspective and most likely in some different light and cloud/weather conditions.
Then, assuming there’s time, we’ll grab our cars, or better yet carpool, down to Fort Point National Historic Site, which is just below the south end of the bridge.  There are some spectacular views from Fort Point, and the interior is extremely interesting and will offer some truly unique angles of the Golden Gate Bridge and a myriad of photo opportunities.

PLEASE BE FLEXIBLE
Because of the unpredictability of San Francisco weather and the fact that we have no control over parts of the tour that may be under construction or temporarily closed for whatever reason, I’d like to ask that everyone be flexible with the exact itinerary of this tour.  We have some indoor options if the weather turns really bad, but the goal is to get up and hopefully over the Golden Gate Bridge and back, but in order to do so, we’re going to have to move rather quickly, and the idea of this tour is to provide you with a really good overview of this area so that you can come back and shoot at your leisure whenever you have an opportunity to do so.

WHAT TO EXPECT
There’s an old saying that “in photography, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just varying degrees of good weather,” so be prepared for any kind of conditions.  Unusual weather typically makes for unique photo opportunities, so we’ll shoot rain or shine!  However, check the weather as close to tour time as possible in order to have an idea of what to expect, but, as you know, San Francisco weather can change on a dime, so you’ll want to wear the correct clothing, and that typically means LAYERS!  I’m going to wear lots of layers, have water repellent clothing and even bring a hat and gloves, just in case, because I want to shoot no matter what and I like to be comfortable. Please come prepared.  You may also want to bring a towel and lens cleaning kit for your gear, a small umbrella probably wouldn’t be a bad idea, either.”
